FIRST Robotics BC, a non-profit organization inspiring young people in BC to pursue further studies and careers in the fields of science, technology, engineering, and math through robotics competitions for school-age students, is proud to be partnering with the Vancouver Aquarium to promote this year’s SUBMERGED℠ competition season, where FIRST® LEGO® League teams will use creative thinking and LEGO® technology to explore the layers of the ocean and bring their learnings and ideas to the surface as they “sea” into the future.
Book Your VisitFIRST Robotics BC will be hosting a series of hands-on activities at Vancouver Aquarium where attendees can try out programming robots to perform some cool underwater maneuvers on a competition field using LEGO Education Spike Prime Robots.
Robotics Season Information: Beneath the ocean’s surface lies our planet’s most complex ecosystems, full of life and potential for exploration and learning, where each inhabitant has a role to play in building a thriving environment. During the 2024-2025 FIRST season, FIRST® DIVE℠ presented by Qualcomm, Robotics teams will use their STEM and collaboration skills to explore life beneath the surface of the ocean. Along the way, we’ll uncover the potential in each of us to strengthen our community and innovate for a better world with healthy oceans.
What is FIRST: FIRST (For Inspiration and Recognition of Science and Technology) is an international youth organization that operates the FIRST Robotics Competition, FIRST LEGO League Challenge, FIRST LEGO League Explore, FIRST LEGO League Discover, and FIRST Tech Challenge competitions. FIRST Robotics BC runs robotics competitions for youth in grades 2-12 throughout the province of BC.
