Aquadopt Program
Join our family!
We invite you to join the Aquarium family by becoming an Aquadopt parent. Aquadopt parents are key in supporting the Aquarium's ongoing conservation and education efforts. Join us today to learn more about the exciting and inspiring stories involving the Aquadopt animals.
Aquadopt participants receive the following:
- Certificate
of Adoption
- Aqua Facts sheet about your adopted animal
- Vancouver Aquarium sticker
- Holiday greeting card from your adopted animal
- Invitation to the Aquadopt "Family Reunion" (held annually in November)
Animals available for aquadoption include:
- Beluga whale: Imaq, Kavna, Aurora, Qila
- Alaskan sea otter: Nyac, Milo, Elfin, Tanu
- Pacific white-sided dolphins: Spinnaker, Laverne, Helen and Hana
- Steller sea lion
- Two-toed sloth
- Yacare caiman
- Giant Pacific octopus
- A harbour seal (from the Marine Mammal Rescue program)
- Tarantula
- Piranha
Once you have become an Aquadopt parent, don't worry about making room for a beluga or an octopus in your home! The Aquarium's trained staff will continue to care for your adopted animal. These animals are tremendous ambassadors for their wild counterparts; seeing them up close and learning about them has inspired countless numbers of people to care about the aquatic world and take steps to conserve our oceans.
The adoption fee is $50 per year. The Vancouver Aquarium is a non-profit, self supporting association dedicated to the conservation of aquatic life through research, interpretation and direct action. Aquadoptions can be arranged at the Membership
Desk onsite or by calling 604-659-3473.
